As a local charity we are unable to spend large sums of money on advertising, or gaining supporters, so any donation you can make will be extremely valuable to us. Please let us know what you are doing so we can help if you wish.
Whatever you decide to do, your donation will help us to continue our reserach and education programmes.
There are many ways to donate to BIRD

Why not raise fundraise for us?
Here are some other ideas of how you could help to raise money for the institute.
Quiz evenings
Organise just one night or a whole series of quizzes in your local pub or social club. You can charge entry for each team and get prizes donated. Many pubs or social clubs will be happy to support you as the event will bring them extra customers.
Challenge
Feeling adventurous? You could take on the challenge of a lifetime – from abseiling down a building to running a marathon – and you can ask people to sponsor you for your efforts.
Sporting event
If you are part of a sports club, golf club or fitness centre, you could organise a charity football match, golf day or fancy dress sports challenge. Maybe your club has one already and you could nominate the Bath institute for Rheumatic Diseases to be the benefiting charity?
Auction
Holding an auction is a fun way to sell items for a good cause.
Something stronger
Invite friends over for the evening and sell tea-inspired drinks such as Long Island iced tea and G&T!
Then you could always do a more traditional raffle, cake sale, tabletop sale or simply ask for one of our collection tins. If you can think of any other great ideas then please let us know.
The 300 club
The 300 club has been operating for more than 10 years now and has risen over £150,000 for The Bath Institute for Rheumatic Diseases (BIRD). It is a way of supporting the Institute while at the same time qualifying the contributors to take part in the monthly cash prizes.
Shares
One share costs £12.00 and entitles the holder to participation in monthly draws throughout the year from September to August. A contributor may purchase as many shares as they wish with a minimum holding of one share (i.e. a subscription of £12.00).
Shares are valid for the year in which they are issued, but may be renewed, and a convenient way of doing this is by use of the Banker’s order opposite. New share certificates are issued each year.
Prizes
When a draw takes place we aim to distribute approximately 30% of the money contributed to prize winners, with the balance of the money going to BIRD. Based on 300 shares the prize would be as followed:
September
1st Prize = £30.00
2nd Prize = £15.00
August
1st Prize = £300.00
2nd Prize = £150.00
3rd Prize = £75.00
However, if the number of shares varies significantly from 300, the amount distributed will be adjusted accordingly.
